Biodiversity in all aspects is my main interest in biology. This includes evolutionary processes, searching for the relationships between organisms and last but not least describing and discussing species. For this I took courses in zoology, palaeontology and geography. |
In history and in present there are problems about what a species is and what not. Now we have a large amount of instruments to find species in nature but the problems are still the same. My diploma thesis is about the species of the shark genus Etmopterus. I will study and compare genetics, morphology and biogeography between populations and between species of Etmopterus. |
