Currently I'm working at my diploma thesis about the systematics and anatomy of Late Jurassic rays and skates. My studies include two batoid specimens from the selachian collection of the "Museum für Naturkunde" which were derived from the Lithographic limestone of Solnhofen, South Germany and Cerin, France, respectively. Both rays are described, compared to suitable material from the collection and their systematic position is analysed on basis of anatomical characters (including teeth and placoid scales) using cladistic methods. |
