Research Statement

Currently I am studying the clasper morphology (male copulation organs) of several different extant shark species using CT-scans and x-rays. The results will provide the basis for further phylogenetic studies on recent and extinct shark species.
In addition, I am interested in the physiology, behavior, morphology and relationships of aquatic organisms with emphasis on vertebrates.
In the future, I would like to continue working in marine biology in order to contribute to a better understanding and protection of oceanic life.
