Research Statement

My research interest rests primarily in geochemistry, marine geochemistry, sea geology, oceanography, climate, palaeontology and biology. I would prefer to combine these special fields, as my diploma-thesis allows whereas the focus lies on geochemical analysis. Discussing the predation ranking of recent selachians I will examine the run-up stable isotopes (O, C and N) to acquire a database. For this purpose I use shark teeth, also ray teeth, if available, of recent species, covering all taxa and ecomorphotypes as far as possible. I hope to receive a significant and established database to elucidate the predator-prey relationship of recent selachians, classify them and thus confirm the different ecomorphotypes.
